We’re Pauline and Bernadette, a mother and daughter duo and owners of Labels by the Bay. We offer beautiful women’s clothing for every-body. Our store is located at Cleveland, a Bayside suburb of Brisbane. Our style is everyday casual elegance, and we know that this kind of dressing perfectly suits the Australian woman’s lifestyle. Labels by the Bay was borne from our gift store, Prezzies by the Bay, which we took over in 2014. Soon after going into the gift shop, we started bringing in a few of our favourite women’s clothing labels. Many women would tell us they were excited by the kinds of clothing making its way into our store. They were women, much like us, who were seeking out well-made and stylish clothing for everyday wear. We were fed up with seeing cheap fabrics and badly cut garments which failed to flatter a woman over 30. Why was a good white t-shirt so hard to find? During the heat of summer, it was also hard to find comfortable and breathable fabrics which also looked good. As well, many shops failed to stock fashionable clothing in larger sizes in our area. We decided that style and comfort should not be mutually exclusive, and style should be available to every woman, whatever her age, size or shape. We launched Labels by the Bay as its own brand on 1 September 2015 and have since merged Prezzies by the Bay into it.
